POSSIBILITIES OF REGENERATION

The Possibilities of Regeneration
, animated short film, is the third installment in Kiss the Ground’s trilogy of soil health short films, all of which meld live action and animation. The first two installments, The Soil Story and The Compost Story, are regularly used to inspire people to get into action around regenerative agriculture and climate change, ‘The Possibilities of Regeneration’ delves deeper into the origins of regenerative agriculture, exploring a story that is new to some but ancient in its roots. Co-written and narrated by Lyla June Johnston – an Indigenous public speaker, artist, scholar and community organizer – the film expands the idea of regeneration past the principles popularized in the relatively young Regenerative Agricultural Movement, widening out to acknowledge and honor the Indigenous roots and holistic nature of regenerative stewardship. Audiences are left to answer one of the most pressing questions of our time: if we expand the regenerative mindset beyond farming, what else is possible?
